What does the badge mean?
Red shield with a tree, "Nottingham Forest FC" text. The tree is a reference to Nottingham Forest — the ancient woodland that once covered much of Nottinghamshire and gave the club its name. Forest is one of very few clubs named directly after a geographical feature rather than a town or city. The Garibaldi red shirt, adopted in the 1860s, is one of the oldest colour traditions in football — named after the Italian revolutionary Giuseppe Garibaldi whose followers wore red.
